Duty & Rest Period Rules by the Government of Canada for Freight Railway Companies
On May 25th, new Duty & Rest Period Rules were implemented by the Government of Canada. These regulations govern the minimum amount of time off a railway employee must be provided between shifts. They ensure that railway workers have sufficient time between shifts to rest and recover, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries, and improving overall job performance.
These new regulations can really strain an organization’s resources as they must stay compliant while managing dozens or even hundreds of crew members that keep railroads running.
The solution? Automating crew management.
