Samir began his career at McKinsey & Co., followed by several years in management at Microsoft Corporation. He was appointed CEO of Disha Technologies in 2003, where he grew the business five-fold and managed its acquisition by Aztecsoft in 2005. In early 2007, he was appointed CEO of Aztecsoft and successfully guided the company to become the fastest growing publicly traded mid-cap IT services company. In 2009, he helped finalize Aztecsoft’s acquisition by MindTree.
Samir received his MBA from the Wharton School of Business and a BA in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin.
Samir is a golf addict, to the annoyance of his family. When not playing golf, he reads books about golf. And when not reading about golf, he contributes to the local community as a Board Member of the Seattle Chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and as a trustee of the Lakeside School.
Monish has more than 20 years of experience in application and systems software development and the architecting of enterprise distributed systems. Along with Unmesh, he co-founded Websym Technologies in 1998. He set up and headed the India R&D operation of Storability, an enterprise storage management startup from Boston. Storability was eventually acquired by Sun Microsystems after which Monish founded and led the India R&D of BladeLogic, helping build a highly scalable enterprise platform for server management in the data center. BladeLogic was acquired by BMC Software after a successful IPO, and Monish contributed to BMC’s cloud management vision, laying the foundation for some of the early pioneering work on cloud resource management and provisioning. He is also the co-inventor of two patents in this area.
Monish has a BE in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida, USA.
In his spare time, Monish is a self-proclaimed gadget freak, gamer and loves his gaming consoles and his FPS games. He often claims that video games keep him fit! His other interests are Formula 1 and reading. He is a sci-fi aficionado and loves Isaac Asimov.
Manish is a senior entrepreneurial leader and executive manager who has grown tremendously over a span of 20 years. He has worked with leading companies, growing products and consulting services P&L’s. He started his career with Siemens AG. Joined Nexgenix, at an early stage start-up, as an associate and grew to Partner & VP, as he built the national consulting firm focused on business intelligence, data warehouse, CRM and led a merger with TCG. He joined the Microsoft management to lead Microsoft Consulting (MCS) Global Services strategy and later led a big data and analytics appliance launch in an SQL server business group. He moved back to startup roots with Edifecs, a B2B healthcare compliance company, as SVP of national accounts and business development. Recently, as a CEO, he launched and led Benefitalign, a cloud-based enterprise healthcare insurance marketplace company to a successful exit.
Manish is passionate about applied technology and loves to ‘reimagine’ business to leverage disruptive innovation of cloud, big data, devices, and analytics, especially in the healthcare, life sciences retail, and high tech industries. He has been an active advisor to several organizations, including industry leaders like Dell Healthcare & Life Sciences, and Silicon Valley big data analytics firms like Action and others.
Manish graduated with a degree in Computer Engineering from University of Mumbai, India and holds a Certificate in Business Management from Wharton school of business, University of Pennsylvania, PA.
Manish lives in Redmond, WA with his wife and 14-year-old daughter. He enjoys the Pacific Northwest outdoors, hiking and trails and loves to travel with family. He is an avid Seattle Seahawks fan – Go Hawks!
Vijay Vashee, a genial technocrat, and a philanthropist began his career with Microsoft Corporation in 1982. During his 19 years at Microsoft Corporation, he held various positions in marketing, program management, and general management and is credited with successfully achieving significant milestones for several key Microsoft products.
Leading the marketing and product launch efforts for Microsoft Corporation’s core applications, Vijay orchestrated the integration of PowerPoint into the Microsoft Office Suite and guided PowerPoint’s revenue growth from $100 million to over $600 million. He also managed the growth of Microsoft Corporation Project from just $5 million in product revenue to over $100 million. At the end of Vijay’s term leading these products, both had gained #1 market share in their categories.
Vijay currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and is a member of the Computing and Information Science Advisory Council, Cornell University Entrepreneurship Council and the University of Chicago Entrepreneurship Board. Vijay is closely involved with a number of start-ups and is the co-founder of the Seattle Chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), a not-for-profit organization that supports and mentors budding entrepreneurs.
Vijay is a Cornell alumnus with a Master’s degree in electrical engineering, and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He obtained his undergraduate degree from IIT, Powai.
